Land Management & the Environment Vermont Woodchips is, and always has been, keenly involved with the environment and good environmental practices while manufacturing woodchips for biomass energy. Our state of the art forestry equipment employs the latest technology to harvest selected areas of property while leaving nearby areas virtually untouched. This application is particularly critical in timber stand improvement opportunities for the land owner. Used in a different manner, the equipment can easily clear large areas of land for various uses such as views, clear cuts, meadows and domestic as well as commercial building sites. |
The Woodchip Process Once a tree is cut, it is removed from the woods, brought to a landing where it is judged for use as chipwood or some other value, as a log. Our chipper can reduce a 27 inch diameter tree into woodchips in a matter of minutes. The chips are then blown into one of our tractor trailers and transported to a biomass energy facility in New England.
Natural disasters and storms can cause great damage to trees. Vermont Woodchips is also the answer to extensive clean-up efforts. We can move and remove torn up trees cleanly and completely leaving a minimum amount of kindling. |
